About Liz Sorrell

Liz dedicated her life to education and helping others having been an administrator and teacher for 45 years. She began her career in education as a science teacher and worked in Ohio, Florida and Massachusetts. Liz was recently retired having served a decade as Superintendent of Carver Public Schools from 2006 to 2016.   


A dedicated and loving mother, Liz instilled the value of education in her two daughters, inspiring them to have their own careers in education. The above photo is of Liz's eldest daughter's graduation where she received a Masters in Education Counseling Psychology. Her youngest daughter (shown above to the right) became a teacher liker her mother.   

She attended Myers Park High School in Charlotte, North Carolina. The above photo is a keepsake from a recent class reunion that she attended in Charlotte. She graduated from Stetson University in Florida. She earned a Master of Education and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Educational Leadership from Cambridge College, Massachusetts.
